Recent comments in a letter from Tommy The people here on Death Row are God's creations that events have changed the course of their lives. And yes, I agree with you, that how they handled these circumstances and changes are their own individual choices. Adversity and hardship builds character! And if we accept this adversity and look for the good in it, it brings about very positive changes in our lives and makes us better people. This has been the case with me! When I first came to Death Row I was very bitter over what had been done to me. I could not understand how/why God let this happen to me. I was hard and hate-filled. One day Brother Desha and I were sitting in the chapel and out of the blue he said to me I had to let hate go or it would consume me like a cancer. And he was right! Once I accepted things for the way they were and quit blaming God, things started changing for me... I am sure I am a much better person now than I was before. All of my horizons have been expanded. I see things through a different set of eyes than I did before. I am much more spiritual and open.... Return to home page
